Tanium’s Chris Hallenbeck on how enterprises are de-cluttering their infrastructure

Tanium’s CISO of the Americas Chris Hallenbeck talks with CyberScoop Editor-in-Chief Greg Otto about enterprises that are working to clean up their cybersecurity portfolio.

Hallenbeck says companies are working to get rid of the tools they may have, but never use. CISOs are finding out that doing a deep audit helps not only save money, but create better cybersecurity architectures for their company.

“It doesn’t have to be super precise,” Hallenbeck told Otto at the 2020 RSA Conference. “I just need to know what software is there, what’s likely there, an I can peel that back and say, ‘Okay, I’ve got the software. How often is it actually being used? If it’s not being used often, I can reduce my number of licenses. I may be able to even remove it all together, because that’s one less thing I have to keep up to date.”
