LineageOS and Ghost — makers of open-source software — grappled with security incidents over the weekend.
Tenable researchers have found no less than seven vulnerabilities in a popular Amazon-owned security camera.
The research highlights the extent to which routers can be a gateway for hackers into networked homes.
“It’s an industry that has fed and continues to feed, to a large extent, off of fearmongering,” Tenable CEO Amit Yoran told CyberScoop.
The company behind the product has failed to issue patches to fix the issue, despite researchers best efforts to contact the company.
"The Peekaboo flaw is extremely concerning because it exploits the very technology we rely on to keep us safe," Tenable chief technology officer Renaud Deraison said in a statement.
