U.S. universities race to contain WannaCry ransomware, officials say

At least five American universities have been impacted by the global ransomware virus known as “WannaCry,” CyberScoop learned today. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Trinity College, University of Washington and North Dakota State University confirmed Tuesday that computers connected to university networks were infected by the virus, while University of Maine denied widespread infection on the Orono campus.
